Shout Out to MetroMorphosis

For this week’s Shout Out Friday, we would like to bring attention to a document published by MetroMorphosis. In this document, Dr. Lori Martin and Christopher J. Tyson, JD share the history and experiences of Baton Rouge’s Black citizens.

In the document, MetroMorphosis states that “Being unaware of the events, activities and decisions that have shaped what we see in the city’s Black neighborhoods renders one ill equipped to effectively contribute to real progress. It is imperative to acknowledge that what exists today is a product of who the
people of this community have been and what the people of this community have done.”
