Connection Through Color: Art in a Diverse Society

Join us this month where we will unpack how art is necessary in a diverse society. A study in 2019 determined that 85% of the artists in 18 major museums in the US were white. Since this is an unrealistic portrait of the American experience, we explore why art is “a gift that gives people something in common”. And through visual art that brings the invisible visible, we learn that we have much more in common than we've been taught. Participants are asked to look at the images and read the articles in the participant materials, which will be used to start the conversation.
