New Opportunities and Expansions at Dialogue on Race Louisiana

Dialogue on Race Louisiana has had a dynamic year, and it’s not stopping! Dialogue on Race Louisiana is proud to reflect on a year of significant achievements and is excited to share what's on the horizon for 2025. Here’s a snapshot of the milestones this year and a glimpse into the future initiatives:

2024 Highlights:

  • Partnerships that Matter: Dialogue on Race Louisiana brought the Original Series to Cancer Services of Baton Rouge, bringing conversations on race to the forefront of community health.

  • Specialized Series Launch: The Dialogue on Race Nursing Original Series was introduced, setting the stage for a nationwide rollout of the Dialogue on Race Healthcare Series in 2025.

  • Film Documentary Success: The first Dialogue on Race film documentary launched to great acclaim, garnering over 400 views, with 10% recommended by YouTube itself!

  • Live Premiere Event: The Dialogue on Race film premiered live, connecting 20 participants across four states in a synchronized viewing experience.

  • Broad Engagement: 445 participants registered for various events or series throughout the year, and Dialogue on Race hosted 34 dialogue and facilitator sessions.

  • Nationwide Reach: Participants from 15 different states joined programs and events, and Dialogue on Race brought the Original Series to five organizations, with reach to tens of thousands of employees.

Looking Forward to 2025:

  • A Bold Rebranding: Dialogue on Race Louisiana is transforming. In 2025, a new website will launch at dialogueonrace.org. While dialogueonracelouisiana.org will remain active, the national presence will be known simply as Dialogue on Race. Local charters will incorporate their city or state into their names, emphasizing the commitment to both local and national conversations on race.

  • Focused Series: Introducing a shorter Original Series specifically focusing on sectors like the economy, law, education, and healthcare. These series will allow participants to talk about institutional racism within various fields.

  • Ask the Founder: A new initiative called "Ask the Founder" will feature live-streamed sessions with Maxine Crump, Dialogue on Race Louisiana’s founder, who lived through strict Jim Crow Laws and the transition from overt segregation to more subtle forms of racism. These sessions will offer a rare opportunity to gain insights from someone who has witnessed firsthand the evolution of racism in America.
